Welcome to the Internet Anchorage of the Saylorville Yacht Club!
SYC is a thriving group of almost 150 sailors whose boats are based at Saylorville Lake Marina, just 15 minutes north of Des Moines. The club exists to promote the enjoyment of sailing and the company of sailors. We are organized on a solid tripod of social, educational, and racing activities.
Membership remains a remarkable bargain: For less than $50 per year, you're eligible to enjoy a full calendar of parties, on-the-water events, dockside gatherings, and weekend racing. Affordable courses are available to sharpen your skills; and you can test those skills in our challenging, low-cost racing program. From the first party in February to the annual banquet in November, you'll circle dates to look forward to on every month of your calendar.
Our membership directory and a vibrant newsletter keep members in touch throughout the year and the benefits of membership don't stop there.
- The club provides insurance for your protection during all social and race events.
- As a clubmember you also receive special rates for services provided by BoatUS, the Boat Owners Association of the United States.
